BUICK
TECHNICAL TIPS is published by
the West Michigan Chapter, BCA as a collection of tips and techniques for keeping the
older Buicks running. The collection of 450 technical tips and specifications were
collected from over 300 back issues of the BUICK BUGLE, national publication of the Buick
Club of America.
This West Michigan Chapter, BCA project, sanctioned
by the Buick Club of America, was over a year in the making. Over 300
8-1/2 x 11 inch pages filled with over 450 tips and specifications
covering Buicks from 1910 to 1985 make this one of the finest
resources ever compiled for a specific make of automobile. Completely
re-typed for easy reading, with 170 illustrations, the book is
arranged into 19 functional chapters, i.e. engine, transmissions,
body, etc., and categorized by year. For instance, if you own a 1938
Buick you can quickly find every reference pertaining to it.
Approximately 10 pages are given over to these two table of content
indexes.
In the Forward, written by Terry Dunham co-author of
The Buick, A Complete History, he says in part "...original Buick reference
works are rarely available. There is a definite need for information and specifications on
the part of those who work to repair or restore a vintage Buick to its original operating
standards. This book seeks to help fill that need...."
The West Michigan Chapter, BCA is excited to make
this grass roots effort a reality. With assistance, coaching, proof-reading and
encouragement from local and national club members this effort has given birth to a book.
From factory specifications and technical information to back-yard home-grown remedies
there is something in this book for everyone who owns a Buick (or any GM car for that
matter).
This 300 page book can be obtained by sending a
check for $19.95 plus $2.50 for handling and shipping to BUICK
TECHNICAL TIPS, 3337 34th Street SW, Grandville, MI 49418.
